4 days Fen tuition ends in a result first 40 caught on tuition with Jim shelley unknown beast from Fen Drayton.

Gary Puiy which has been on tuition a number of times and has had fish with Jim 39 lb 6 has now raised his level with his first 40 lb exactly on a trip with me to Fen Drayton a tall order to catch anything from this mind blowing water

As you can see from the photos he caught this unknown very heavily scaled linear mirror at a little past 4 in the morning, In -1 conditions he banked this great fish after a 30 min battle where the first run was in the region of 130-150 yards, I was thinking that he actually hooked into a cat fish we have in Fen but it turned out to be this unknown Fen beast.

After the fight the fish was weighed and sacked safely until some members of Fen Drayton arrived and we had the right light

Fish was re-weighed by witnesses Matt and Dan, fish was safely returned to the vastness of Fen Drayton to fight another day.

I caught one as well, at 32lb 4 a stunning armour plated mirror another Fen jewel to my collection

This was all caught on Nash baits, scopex squid red plus, they were caught on Nash 20lb bullet braid and prototype Nash lead core, and a prototype Nash bristle filament for the chod, Hooks were Korda chod hooks size 6, a 2 oz Korda lead and uncle Jim’s home made pop-us to complete the setup
